Happy Halloween!

Last year I didn't dress up for Halloween. I did my bloody manicure and probably wore my Misfits shirt, but no costume. This year my friend and I decided that we were going to dress up for work. This meant I needed to find something simple, work appropriate and no large props.  So I searched Pinterest, made a stroll through the Halloween store (overpriced) and debated a few things and finally settled on...

So I printed out badges, colored (because laser printer doesn't do color) and assembled them, and dug out some white fabric to make an apron.

The logo on the front is sharpie on interfacing, ironed on.  Add some eyeliner and red lipstick, try to make the hair behave with a blue headband, and you get....

Did I mention I'm not a big fan of selfies?

Flo was a big hit at work. Friend was an awesome witch with a sparkly spiderweb hat. We and two other people were the only ones to dress up in the entire building.

So Happy Halloween, and Blessed Samhain!!

*(Irony: my coverage is actually through Allstate, but I don't think I could have pulled off Mayhem)

There is only so much light in the craft room, with it being on the north side of the house.

Sure, I can tackle many projects in one day, but I'll be cursing by the time I'm almost done with the third.

Sewing machine needles are only meant to take so much abuse.

Creativity and motivation abandon you too, only to come back a half an hour before you have to be asleep.

Odds and Ends

This weekend I tackled a project that has needed to be done for over a year. I finally put knobs on the three kitchen drawers.  Better late than never and now every time I have to go for a spoon I kick myself for not doing it sooner.

I crocheted two dishrags while watching TV, just to use up some skein remnants. Still not really inspired or motivated for a new project yet.

Finally, socks.

Finally, the gray socks are finished.  It took almost a year, according to my project page on Ravelry. At least they're done before cold weather.

I can say with a decent amount of certainty that I will probably not knit another pair of socks.  I am a painfully slow knitter and I don't have the attention span.  I've now done top down and toe up and learned about short rows and failed Kitchener stitching, and you know what, that's enough.

Also, I frogged the Luna sweater. Since my post it fell off my pattern page, I had no clue where I left off, and I just wasn't feeling it anymore. So now I have 6 skeins of the same yarn for something else. Not sure what yet. I still like the pattern and will most likely try it again at some point with some other color.

Kind of feeling very uninspired at the moment. Floundering, really.

(eta: apparently this is also post 300 for the Craftykix blog. So go have Halloween candy to celebrate)
